Nearer my God to Thee... Tiffany Searle

Tiff being held byMax Hall!  (he kissed her)

Four years ago Tiffany was a was an active, happy, healthy little girl. Then she was confined to a wheelchair for a few years and today cannot even sit in a wheelchair. She has the brightest eyes you have even seen. She has a sweet little body that hangs like a rag doll, muscles that she cant move, and no one knows why -- Tests done on Tiffany read like a book: muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, polio, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Lyme, MS, SMA, CMT, CIDP and MANY MANY more. All the tests were expensive and most weren't paid by insurance. It was a $3,000 test just for some blood work that was done. And the insurance company basically laughed them away. And at the end of the day, still no complaints from the amazing Searle family.
This is a medical mystery and has been impossible for some of the best doctors in the country to diagnose.

The Searles have six children and Tiffany is their youngest. Scott (her father) works long hours to help with medical expenses while his wife, Valerie, is Tiffany's full-time caregiver. These people can only be described as AMAZING. Through the past 2 years watching this little girl struggle and try so hard to hold on to her life has been nothing short of life changing for us. Their testimonies in sacrament thanking heavenly father for "ALL THEIR BLESSINGS," their service to others in the ward, their smiling faces, their willingness to be the best of friends, and their dedication and love for Heavenly father and Jesus while they watch their daughter pass away right before their eyes.

Make a wish foundation came to see little Tiffany and fulfill her last desire. Anything at all... She chooses she want to run a race. A marathon at BYU! Not disnyworld, a cruise, a new car, no just one last race with wind blowing her pretty blond hair. She just wants to get up and run so bad. So in a few short days an amazing event was planned and will forever be at the top of my list. The BYU football team, track team, cheerleaders as well as our whole ward and many of their friends and family filled the building. Tiffany laid in a chariot looking heavenward with a grin on her face.

Preston was able to run in the race, he was so awesome... He ran the entire way and didn't stop once. He was drenched in sweat, thirsty and old enough to know what was transpiring around him. After spending 6 months in a wheel chair last year himself it touches a special place in our little family. It makes us grateful and emotional.  John and I were given the ultimate opportunity to tell Preston how much we love him, how we will never take him for granted and how he should be grateful to have his health.  Tiffany and her family are in our prayers each night.

When Tiffany woke the next morning she whispered,
"my race."

Life is fragile and sometimes short, too short...
Tiff is being held by her proud mother.  If i have ever seen true love in a mothers eyes then this is it!
